Acrylic Painting on Canvas Team Bonding Art Jamming Singapore Visual Arts Centre

Hello everyone, I’m Baron William Yang, currently a 12th-grade student at the Singapore American School (SAS). From Oct 5 to Oct 6, I will be co-hosting a duo art exhibition with Henk Jiang. The exhibition will feature works in various mediums. You are all sincerely invited to attend.
Having just turned 18, I spent eight years of my childhood in South Africa before moving to Singapore with my family. This cross-continental upbringing has always led me to view painting as a way to understand and connect with the world, rather than merely a skill to master. Thus, my sketchbooks are filled with countless spontaneous ideas and unfinished dialogues—all precious moments I refuse to let fade. Meanwhile, my long-term practice in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is aimed at someday capturing the dynamism and raw power of real combat in my art, breathing stronger vitality into the characters I depict.
My creative inspiration draws from a multicultural background, nuanced observations of life, and a study of dynamic aesthetics. Together, these elements drive me to continually transform inner imagination into tangible visuals.
Through this exhibition, I hope to share my creative journey from recent years. I look forward to engaging with you all.
Hi, my name is Henk Jiang. I am currently a Grade 11 student at UWCSEA, and this collection of work showcases my explorations in oil painting and digital art. I have great passion and interest for both art and fashion, and believe that art is a powerful visual language for expressing one’s inner emotions, ideas, and experiences. Through my art works, I hope to inspire others to reflect on their inner selves and find strength in overcoming emotional challenges.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
