Graffiti Art - Spray & Paint Workshop

In this art workshop of Graffiti Spray and Paint Workshop at Visual Arts Centre, we’re allowing kids and parents to join and paint together. Suitable for twelve and above to join independently, children of eight and above may attend this workshop together with a parent.
You’ll be instructed on Graffiti spray painting design of words and symbols and complete beginners to drawing or painting are welcomed to join.
Be guided by local Graffiti spray painting artist in your journey to create your own unique Graffiti painting artwork in this workshop. Combine graffiti design, doodling, brush painting and spray painting with pure creativity and fun. Learn to make your own Graffiti painting art in this 2.5 hours workshop.
15 Minutes – Introduction to Graffiti Art – characteristics of Graffiti, various expressions and methods of Street Art
30 Minutes – Brainstorming, design and conceptualisation of your own Graffiti Art (using a 50x60cm canvas)
1.5 Hours – Acrylic Painting and Spray Painting with textures and effects, optional layering with marker drawing and design
15 Minutes – Participants touch up and refine their artworks, conclusion of Graffiti Art Workshop and photo-taking
About Graffiti Art:
Graffiti art may be created with various tools and methods. The process of making Graffiti include design and conceptualisation, drawing, and painting. Spray painting is seen as the main medium of Graffiti art or Street art. Abound with creativity and expression, Graffiti art is often done as large mural art along streets and has also attracted much attention with the notoriety of famous artists like Banksy. Graffiti art is said to be a unique and expressive form of art that encourages freedom of expression and often uses bold colours, abstraction and icons of society.
About the instructor ANTZ:
ANTZ is one of the Singapore urban art scene’s mainstay talents, having been a continuously practicing creative since 1999. ANTZ stays true since the beginning of his design career and has served as a strong driving force for youth empowerment, from continuously mentoring for World Skills and Noise Singapore, to his involvement on the streets, engaging both the brightest and marginalised youth through design, street art, and graffiti.
Equipped with a strong understanding of design and an ubiquitous obsession for the Chinese culture and aesthetic, ANTZ continues to walk the art world reaching most of South East Asia, China, North America, and Europe and in the process have successfully carved out a niche of diverse and notable clientele, including Neiman Marcus, OCBC, Esplanade, Sentosa, and Facebook, to name a few.
*All art materials are provided for the session (50x60cm canvas, acrylic paints and brushes, spray paints, aprons etc).
* Suitable for adults and the minimum age for children to join is ten years old with at least one parent joining the session.
The art courses are available at both our Dhoby Ghaut Art Studio and MacPherson Art Studio, please choose your preferred location.
All sessions are to be completed within the course duration stated. No refunds are provided for any courses/workshops/lesson purchased. Further extension of course validity of up to one month only may be provided with proof of overseas travel, hospitalization/medical certificate.
The course package(s) is/are valid within the stated date of registration. Each session under the adult and teenager course package is 2 hours 15 minutes. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to reject/reschedule your lesson if you are late. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to cancel/reschedule/postpone any course/session without prior notice. In the event that the course is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of the fees will be provided. The registrant/guardian of the registrant indemnifies and holds Visual Arts Centre and/or its staff harmless from any losses sustained from any activity within the premises of Visual Arts Centre, including personal injury/loss or damages to property.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
